“Start a small business together they said …make a little money …keep yourselves busy… …roll on a year and they forgot to mention the start up madness, website lingo to learn, stock control mishaps, delivery fiascos, social media mind games… And the list goes on! No this time next year we won’t be millionaires, but we will have continued learning, made copious more mistakes, spent more than we have and generally messed up grandly! It is very much a work in progress running a small business, everyday brings a new question to answer, we have learnt that everything takes three times longer than you thought it would and double the price you think it should have. So why even bother? we hear you ask …..that is the easy part! It’s the people we engage with, our suppliers our customers, our interaction with others is priceless, a positive review, a happy customer, makes you appreciate how far you have come, it really is as simple as that. Yes you want to bang your head against a brick wall from time to time but you laugh more than cry…. honest! Taking ourselves too seriously has been an issue, cannot start until everything is in place, can’t afford models and professional photographer, hours making content because it never looks perfect and so not confident to post, NEWSFLASH that is coming to an end, from now on it’s going to be silly videos, highlighted mishaps and general mayhem between showcasing our stock as best we can, because of course the idea is to sell! And of course how can I end this rambling without mentioning the icing on the cake working with your bestie everyday with the promise of a glass of something nice on a Friday evening and a chance to look back on the past week and laugh ourselves stupid knowing we get to do it all again the next week …… Happy weekend people, remember to have fun!
